Final statement of the 6th European Agroforestry Conference

 
We, participants in the 6th European Agroforestry Conference organized by the European Agroforestry Federation in Nuoro from 16 to 20 May 2022, are aware that, while we meet to share our knowledge, strengthen scientific collaborations, enjoy the hospitality of the wonderful Sardinian land and its people, a terrible war of aggression in Ukraine is depriving millions of people of what is most dear to them: life and freedom.

Agroforestry as a way to post-war recovery and adaptation to climate change in Ukraine

 
As part of the implementation of the scoping project INSURE: movIng Nature baSed climate solutions into Ukraine’s Reform agEnda, a meeting of the working group "Agroforestry as a path to post-war recovery and adaptation to climate change in Ukraine" was held on June 9, 2022. The WWF-Ukraine coordinates the project with the support of the of Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).

EURAF Policy Briefing 17: ENVI amendments fatally weaken the LULUCF Regulation

 

The European Agroforestry Federation (EURAF) asks MEPs to vote against Amendments 23 and 54 (from COM ENVI) in plenary session on the revised LULUCF Regulation (7-8/6/22).  They remove the crucial commitment to carbon neutrality in the integrated “Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use” (AFOLU) pillar by 2035, and ignore IPCC guidelines from almost 20 years ago.
