KC Upload Manual for "Contact Person"

Important Update (2018-01-01): if you archive and publish an upload, in the background, the automatic upload into the Zenodo will happen. Therefore, you don't have to do anything with the uploads after the clicking the "Archive and publish this upload" button.

Note: This function is available for contact persons of the knowledge cloud

You can get an e-mail from two different sources:

  1. from a non-registered user,
  2. from the AFINET website automatically (sender: afinet [dot] kc [at] gmail [dot] com), please, do not reply to those e-mails.

In the first case, you must check the document (attachment) and its required / optional parameters.

  1. if everything is correct, you must upload the document into the Knowledge Cloud (through upload form) and then go to the "Active uploaded file management" page. In the uploads' table and in the related row, you can click on the "Details" button. After that, you can push the "Archive and publish this upload" button. Then the upload will go into the "Zenodo - AFINET - Knowledge Cloud community" automatically. After that, you can search it via KC Search function and find the related upload.
  2. if anything is wrong, you must send an error report (list) e-mail to the User and discuss the problem(s)... finally, if everything is correct, see section a).

In the second case, you must check the AFINET website, Knowledge Cloud, Upload section. Go to the “Uploaded file management” (or via e-mail link). And there, you will find the list of the active uploads (sorted by the upload date and time – descending). Here, you can search the uploaded documents (by filenames). You can push the “Details” button by the latest upload entry (table, row). There will be the parameters of the uploaded documents, the User name and e-mail, and the upload document (via “Download the file” button). If you push the “Archive and publish this upload” button, you will publish this upload on Zenodo in “AFINET - Knowledge Cloud” community. (In the background, a feedback will be sent to the User with your name and e-mail address.)

If you archive an upload, you can find it in the “Uploaded file management” (and via Search function) section.

Drugie spotkanie Sieci na rzecz Innowacji w Agroleśnictwie (RAIN) w CDR Brwinów

II spotkanie robocze Sieci RAIN w Polsce odbyło się w dniu 24 stycznia 2018 roku w Centrum Doradztwa Rolniczego w Brwinowie. W spotkaniu uczestniczyło 28 osób, w tym osoby reprezentujące różne kategorie interesariuszy: praktycy (rolnicy, leśnicy), edukatorzy (doradcy, organizacje pozarządowe), administracja (Starostwo Powiatowe w Kutnie i w Gostyniu) i naukowcy (z IUNG-PIB w Puławach, Szkoły Głównej Gospodarstwa Wiejskiego w Warszawie oraz z Instytutu Środowiska Rolniczego i Leśnego Polskiej Akademii Nauk w Poznaniu).

Polish RAIN debates on agroforestry development during the second meeting

The second Polish Regional Agroforestry Innovation Network meeting was held on 24th January 2018, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m in the Central Agicultural Advisory Centre at Brwinów, Mazovian voivodship.

Robert Borek and Małgorzata Gałczyńska chaired the meeting.

A total of 28 stakeholders attended the 2nd RAIN meeting, more than 1/3 of them being practitioners (farmers/foresters).

Il secondo incontro RAIN italiano: insieme per migliorare

Sono stati 39 i partecipanti al secondo incontro RAIN italiano tra olivicoltori, ricercatori, frantoiani, tecnici e persone coinvolte nella filera dell’olio EVO.

I lavori sono andati avanti per un'intera giornata trascorsa all'insegna della condivisione e della partecipazione. L'obiettivo del workshop è stato focalizzato sullo sviluppo delle conoscenze e la diffusione delle pratiche agroforestali attraverso il libero accesso ai risultati della ricerca, l'identificazione e la diffusione di buone pratiche di gestione e scambio di conoscenze tra esperti.

The second Italian RAIN meeting: together to improve

Thirty-nine participants attended the meeting among the stakeholders of the local olive oil value chain, including olive growers, researchers, oil mills, consultants and consumers.

The work went on for a whole day spent in the name of sharing and participation. The workshop's objective has been focused on: developing knowledge and strengthening the dissemination of agroforestry practices through free access to research results, identification and dissemination of good management practices and the exchange of knowledge between experts.

El sector agroforestal gallego demanda una legislación adaptada a las particularidades de la región

Los miembros de la Red Regional de Innovación Agroforestal (RAIN) debatieron y propusieron posibles acciones de mejora para promover las prácticas agroforestales a nivel regional, nacional e internacional. Entre sus demandas, destaca la adaptación de la legislación del sector a las particularidades de cada región. Declaran que el actual marco normativo favorece a las grandes explotaciones frente a los pequeños propietarios, perjudicando a regiones como Galicia, con un marcado minifundismo.

Spanish RAIN discuss agroforestry policies during their second meeting

Attendees participated in two working sessions where they discussed the legislative and policy needs that affect agroforestry practitioners, such as adapting policies to regional realities, and creating a European Agroforestry Plan that regulates and promotes this type of climate-smart agriculture. Results of the previous meetings across Europe were presented and RAIN members suggested innovative ideas and solutions to face bottlenecks and needs previously identified.

Segunda Reunião da RAIN portuguesa

A segunda reunião da Rede Regional de Inovação Agroflorestal Portuguesa ocorreu no dia 30 de janeiro de 2018 no Instituto Superior de Agronomia (ISA) em  Lisboa.
A reunião, que contou com 36 participantes, iniciou-se com uma breve apresentação do projeto aos novos membros por Joana Amaral Paulo. João Palma (CEF/ISA) apresentou o conceito da plataforma de conhecimento – Knowledge Cloud.

Second Portuguese RAIN meeting

The second portuguese Regional Agroforestry Innovation Network meeting took place on the 30th of January 2018 at Instituto Superior de Agronomia (ISA) in Lisbon.

Joana Amaral Paulo (the Innovation Broker) chaired the meeting.

36 RAIN members attended the meeting, which started with  a brief Project presentation to the new members by Joana Amaral Paulo. João Palma (CEF/ISA) presented the concepts of the knowledge platform - Knowledge Cloud.

During the meeting several of the RAIN members spoke about their experience and moderated the debates:
