Around 30 people attended the first cork inet inter-regional workshop from the Incredible project, which took place in ISA, Lisbon, Portugal.
The meeting was dedicated to the subject: ‘Genetic variation of cork oak, a tool for regeneration of cork oak woodlands’. This topic, of high relevance for many of the Portuguese AFINET RAIN members working with the cork oak species in montado, was approached in the presentations made from four distinct counties: Tunisia, Italy, Spain and Portugal. In these countries, long term provenance trials installed around 1998 are still under follow up. Recent results were presented and future working strategy discussed.
The results presented will be included in practice abstracts and factsheets of the Incredible project. Synergies and experience exchange between the two projects were explored, related to the tasks of development of dissemination materials and of the knowledge cloud. Hopefully, this will allow an increase of the impact from the materials and information flow between the cork inet from Incredible and the Portuguese RAIN from AFINET.
